Absolutely loved this book! His directions are great and the pictures are wonderful. Totally transform your home into another era, with his ideas. I used the worn brick look in my kitchen and get raves from the people who come over and see it.

I am a mural artist and I bought this book based on the reviews and cover art. I feel that the artist is talented but the book has a misleading title. There are hardly any murals in the book; it’s mainly faux finishes done with spackle. If there is actually texture then the finish isn’t really faux and therefore hard to change when you want something new.

I was really disappointed. I wanted to see hand painted murals and decorative finishes that didn’t rely on the texture that was already there.

Not only are the illustrations fantastic, but the author explains in fine detail how he accomplishes his work. I feel that I can confidently duplicate some of his decorating techniques in my own home. I would have liked to seen how much money this cost him to create his work of art.

This is a wonderful book packed full of creative ways one can bring the interior of their home to life. The beauty of the projects inspire one to pick up a brush and start creating. The detailed instructions along with complete material lists make it easy to get started. After reading this book I find myself motivated to turn my own home into a showcase of classical fine art.
