Save Money On Your Heating Bill Everyone hates high heating bills. But we're all sick and tired of turning down the thermostat and always being cold. There is really no need to heat every room in your house if you are only occupying one of them. This concept is called Zone Heating. The beauty of Roll-n-Glow Fireless Flame is that it can easily roll from room to room so you can take the heat with you anywhere you go. For every degree you turn down your thermostat for 8 hours, you can save 1% on your monthly heating bill. Take it down 5 degrees for 24 hours and you can save 15% for that day. When the Roll-n-Glow is turned down to the medium setting, 750 watts, or 2555 BTU's it can easily heat a average size bedroom for about 8 cents an hour.* On the high setting, 1500 watts, or 5110 BTU's it can handle a 325 sq. ft. room for about 16 cents an hour.*

Very satisfied!

I love the heat surge. I don't think it was built to sit close to. It was meant to warm the room, create a savings for your heat bill and provide some ambience. I turn it on when I get home from work and it very quickly warms our oversized family room. I wish I had taken advantage of the option to purchase the 2nd when I bought mine. It would have been great for the bedroom as well. Way to go!
The best heater ever!

Even though this heater has many negative reviews, I think this heater is the best heater ever. Not only do I get compliments from everyone that sees the heater in my living room, it really does its job in making the room warm. Only thing is, that it only warms up 1 room, but it does 1 heck of a job warming it up. I love this heater and I am thinking of purchasing another 1 for my bedroom. This heater also saved me a ton on my heating bill!! Great +++++. Happy shopping!
It was a gift

I got this as a gift from my grandmother who just raved about it. When I got it I was kind of disappointed. For the price she must have paid for it...it really does look cheap. I would have never bought it myself. The "fire" just looks cheap. No way around that. BUT I gave it 3 stars because after the initial "wow this looks like cheap $%!*" phase, my husband and I really enjoy the glow it gives and the warmth. We live in a small one bedroom apartment and it heats our bedroom nicely. It doesn't get hot like you're sweating and peeling clothes off and it doesn't heat an entire room instantaneously. But you can tell the difference once you go into another room. We like that it's on wheels and it gives off a pretty light and decent warmth in a small room. I wouldn't buy it for myself because it's kind of loud, and looks really cheap for the money. They had a sticker on the back of mine "Inspected by Jonah" we thought that was pretty funny. If you're buying it for heating purposes only..Get a space heater. I think this may be for ambiance? or decor? I don't know who would decorate their place with crap like this though.
Wouldn't heat up a Bathroom

I bought two of these and spent almost $700 and I am VERY DISSAPOINTED with their performance. You can't even feel the heat unless you are about a foot away from the unit. I live in California where it doesn't really get that cold in the winter but I was interested in saving money on my heating bill and this thing won't even heat my bedroom. The mantle is oak plywood, not solid oak as advertised. The only good thing about them is that they look nice. The Amish are being used as a marketing tool to sell these fireplaces. All of the parts come from China and are assembled by Amish in Ohio, so don't expect good Amish craftsmanship because you won't get it with a Heat Surge Electric Fireplace.
Made in China

Reviewer: Erin M. Staples,
Maybe the mantle is made by the Amish, but the heater is made in China and back lit by a couple of lightbulbs. I looked at one of these at my neighbors and saw a review by Consumer Reports that said you can get better heat from a $75-$80 heater; they recommended the DeLonghi. Don't get taken! The reviewer said this costs much more money to run than many simpler heaters.
